This is the homepage for ECE 632. This course does not run in all Calendar years. It is currently running in Fall 2006.

ECE 632 aims to provide students with an understanding of finite element analysis as it applies to electromagnetic and electromechanical systems. The course concentrates on providing understanding of the FEA method so that the student may be apply the theory to more specific problems beyond the scope of the course. Due to the level of electromagnetics and vector calculus in the undergrad program, the course begins assuming little advanced knowledge of EM systems and their solution. Typically, the course will consider two sets of electromechanical system: power frequency magnetic field systems and micro-scale electric field systems. Dependent on the interest of the students taking the course, combined electro-magnetic systems requiring full analysis of the wave equation may be included.
