My research background is in the broad area of electrical energy conversion. There are three basic questions in this area:
My work in these areas has historically focussed on electrical machines, drives & power electronics. Example past research projects include: analysis of large hydrogenerators; high speed drives for flywheel energy storage; analysis of hybrid buses; manufacturing influences on the performance of elecric machines for the automotive industry; wind generator design and conrol; energy efficiency and losses in industrial equipment; computational electromagnetics; adaptive fuzzy control and energy management for remote arctic sites.
