biology with emphasis on the coordinated regulation of gene expression. Classes are
designed to include lectures by the instructors and discussions by students of assigned
papers that relate to the lecture topics.
HHMI
Virtual Lab. This interactive laboratory, developed with Shockwave, demonstrates how
an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is carried out and some of the experimental
problems that may be encountered. By completing this exercise, students will gain a better
understanding of experimental design, key concepts in immunological reactions, and
interpretation of data -- and have fun doing it!
Life Cycles: Reproduction
and Embryological Development.Ideas for capturing K-12 students' attention
about reproducton and embryonic development. Games, laboratory exercises and simulations
of developmental processes. Prepared by the Woodrow Wilson Leadership Program in Biology.
