Ready to offer your awesomeness to the Association?  Elections for next year's executive positions are up.  Undergraduate students majoring or minoring in archaeology who are interested in filling the following positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Social Coordinator, should sign-up outside ES 826 by March 31st, 2009.

Chacmool Events

We are determined to encourage new and old members alike to get to know one another and to "discover" what the Archaeology department and the Chacmool club has to offer! What better way to do so then by hosting numerous events/seminars/workshops/etc. throughout the year?? While we do encourage students (undergrads/graduates) and faculty members to become Chacmool members, our activities are in no way limited to just them! So if you happen to be a non-member and want to find out more about us, one of the best ways to do so is to come out to our social activities!

Upcoming Events:

1. Archaeology Career Day:                                                                                                     Meet representatives from local archaeological consulting firms and learn what makes a good job candidate.  Saturday, March 14th, 2009 from 9:00am-12:00pm in ES 162.  

2. ASA Flint Knapping Workshop:                                                                                           Take a crack at making your own stone tools! Saturday, February 28th, 2009 in room ES 859 (beginners) and 822 (advanced).  Contact sjpicker@ucalgary.ca for more!

3. Logo Competition! Enter designs on southern Alberta archaeology, landscape, or lifestyle to caa10@ucalgary.ca by March 31, 2009!

4. Noon Hour Lecture:
   Chacmool is currently co-hosting a series of lectures along with the Department of Archaeology. These lectures cover a wide range of topics which take place every Wednesday from 12-1pm in ES 859. Coffee and snacks are provided.
