Instructions on Writing a CV

The goal of a curriculum vitae (c.v.) is to summarize your professional career. This will obviously develop as an individual progresses in their career, so some categories may be added or deleted with time. For the most part a cv is cumulative, and provides a potential employer with a thumbnail sketch of an individual's history and qualifications. Your objective, in preparing a cv, is to include everything that you feel is relevant to presenting yourself in the most favorable light possible. It is important, however, that you not embellish, since this may be construed as fraudulent and thereby eliminate you from consideration. Be honest, but not timid about your qualifications - if there is something that would make a potential employer think favorably of your application it should appear on the cv.
