Chillin' for CharityJDC West Team Haskayne is holding their first annual Chillin’ for Charity fundraiser on Tuesday, November 15 between 11:30 am and 3 pm. Chillin' for Charity is a JDC West-wide initiative to raise money for local charities, and involves participants braving the elements to jump – as creatively as possible – into an icy cold pool of water…outside. Think Polar Bear Dip, but on campus, with funds raised going to support the United Way of Calgary and area. To participate, get your team together (4 people max), raise/secure pledges for a minimum of $50 per person, dress up in your most ridiculous costumes, channel your Dino pride, and take the plunge! JDC West is a part of the largest student-run business competition in Western Canada. This three-day event – to which the Haskayne School of Business is sending a full delegation of close to 50 students this year – involves an academic competition, athletic challenges, a social competition, and a charity initiative. Nearly 600 students from 11 of Western Canada’s top universities unite annually to compete in this competition, which organized by and for business students.
