The "Project Management Scaleable Methodology Guide" available both from the PMI site, or directly from AMX International, Incorporated provides a series of charts which will assist the project manager "to tailor or scale the best practices approach to make sense for projects of lesser size, risk, and complexity". It is meant to be used in conjunction with the PMBOK Guide.

The complete Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge is available on the web from the Project Management Institute. Once connected to the PMI site select "PMBOK Online", also referred to as "PMBOK Guide Online". The guide is available as either a single .zip type file, or as a series of .pdf type files. If you choose to download the .zip file you will need the PKZIP program available from PKWARE to decompress (UNZIP) the compressed .zip file into the .pdf files that the Adobe Acrobat Reader uses. You will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader, (free download from the Adobe site) to view the Guide. When you install the latest version (3.0 or better) of the Acrobat Reader it will be available as both a stand-alone application for opening and reading .pdf files from your hard-drive, or as a Netscape plug-in for reading the .pdf file directly from the PMI website.
