Topics and Chapters
Each one of the Mishneh Torah's fourteen volumes is subdivided into specific topics, introduced by the Hebrew espression "Hilkhot" (Laws of...). Each of the topics is further divided into numbered chapters, and these into numbered paragraphs.
References to Maimonides are normally by topic and paragraph (the volume title is sometimes omitted).
