About the Project

What is the" Virtual Visitation and Mathematics Science Learning"?

This project, in conjunction with the support of the SSHRC and University of Calgary, aims to study the use of new technology, such as virtual visitation, to encourage students in both urban and rural regions to learn math and science.

The Alberta SuperNet represents a first of its kind infrastructure project that brings broadband network services to 422 underserved communities in the province. This provides a unique opportunity to study technology-enhanced learning in schools. The research findings from this project may provide guidelines for future research. It will also inform the design of inclusive learning environments and suggest new models of effective use of the Alberta SuperNet.
