Hotchkiss Brain Institute - University of Calgary


I am a Professor of Radiology and Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Calgary ‘s Cumming School of Medicine and a scientist at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute. I am also the Campus Alberta Innovates Program (CAIP) Chair in Healthy Brain Aging and Head of the Image Science Division of the Department of Radiology.   Before joining UCalgary I was Director of the MNI’s Brain Imaging Centre and I remain an Adjunct Professor of McGill University.  I am also a Senior Editor of the journal NeuroImage.

The three images immediately above illustrate some of my research activities.  On top is a sample functional MRI data set.  The bottom left shows white matter fibre tracks of the corpus callosum obtained from diffusion imaging.  The lower right image is a map of the location of thalamic lesions created using MR guided high-intensity focused ultrasound to treat patients with essential tremor.
