ARRIVAL INFORMATION

NOTE:   Eva Jiminez is the secretary who will be your contact for logistical information (work phone 93-2041968).  ESARQ has proposed that she meet you at the apartments on Sept. 11 (Saturday) to show you the use of the public transit system and to give you other informatin on Barcelona (they did not provide a meeting time).  Sept. 11 is a holiday, which means that most businesses will be closed - you should pick up groceries,etc. in advance.  

Be careful about valuable possessions.  EVDS students have had money stolen  in public areas in the following ways: 1) purse on shoulder, grabbed by rider on passing scooter  2) wallet removed from conspciously bulging hip pocket (student received black eye after pursuing thief).  Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.  Do not put large amounts of cash in conspicuous places (purse, bulging wallet).

Options for Travel from Airport to Apartment 1)  Share taxi from airport (about 2500 pesetas) plus luggage cupplementary fee

2) Air bus line - leaves every 15 minutes from in front of the main exit at the airport. Get off at Plaza de Catalunya (600 pesetas).  

        A) Take taxi to apartment building (about 600 pesetas plus supplemntary luggae fee)
B) Take metro (yellow line ) north to Joanic stop )about 180 pesetas).  Walk 6 blocks north to Marti.

 

3) Train every 15 minutes from airport to Plaza de Catalunya (400 pesetas)
