This is a front 3/4 photo of my 1928 Ford Roadster Street Rod and trailer. The photo was taken in July 1991, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on the way home to Calgary from P.E.I.

The car and trailer are painted cardinal red - Centari enamel #2311 -

The car is an all steel Rod. Wheels are 15" McLean wires, tires are Perelli, p3 in front, p7 in back. The chassis mod's consist of a front-end dropped with a 4 inch drop Superbell axle (narrow track) and reverse eye spring, aligned by a Pete & Jake four bar. Front brakes are '67 cougar disks and calipers mounted with a Superbell mustang brake kit. The rear end is a 9 inch Ford narrowed to put the tires inside the fenders. The rear end is mounted on coil overs and a TCI fourbar with panard rod. The drive train came from a 1977 Capri II and consists of a 2.8l V6 and fourspeed standard tranny. The only motor mods were a new Weber carb and headers. The transmission is shifted with an original Model A shift tower which was heavily modified for use on the capri transmission. Using the A shift tower also provided for mounting a fully functional stock hand brake lever. The body, fenders, decklid, cowl, gas tank, doors and most shiny stuff are all original parts, only splash aprons, hood and running boards are repro. The upholstery is all leather, rumble and front seats in wide pleats.

I started building the car with the help of my father in Dec 1981, begining with a frame and "door openings". We did all of the work on the car ourselves with the exception of the pin stripes and upholstery. The car was mostly complete by July 1985. and has been a source of fun ever since. I have driven the car Calgary to Ottawa and back 3 times and once to P.E.I. and back (and still no break downs). My wife and I dated while block sanding it and then touring in it. It was our wedding car and brought both our children home from the hospital. It acts as our vacation transportation every summer and has gained a place as a warmly "loved" member of the family.

The trailer was made from a 1948 (approx) centre aisle Coca-Cola cooler (these coolers were made in Canada by Kelvinator in London, Ontario). I gutted the cooler and now carry all the gear you would normally find in a trunk back there. The trailer has a Model A rear bumper and custom Coca-Cola lens tail lights. The Logo on the trailer is redone in gold leaf. The license plate on the trailer reads CLA6.
