An osprey above the Bow River, Banff National Park, Canada.

Ospreys, or fish hawks, are big birds of prey specialized for catching fish -note the long, sharp talons! An interested watcher could get hypnotized following an osprey flying up and down above a water body. Then, suddenly the osprey drops down, hits and splashes the water, and flies away grabbing its fish. This photo is here because sights like this make life beautiful while doing any kind of fieldwork.
