Two Italian wolves feeding on a sheep carcass.

These wolves did not kill the sheep; instead the carcass was left abandoned by humans. Wolves occasionally prey on livestock. However, in Italy most losses are caused by stray dogs. People and wild or semi-wild canids often interact and sometimes interfere because of their "interest" for similar resources. Resolving conflicts between people and canids is an example for management of other conflicts between the needs of people and those of wildlife.
