A bighorn sheep and a fly.During the summer, ungulates living in northern countries or in mountain ranges are severely bothered by flies and mosquitoes (Order Diptera). Summers are short but warm and these conditions allow for reproduction and concentration of many insects in a short time frame. In any case, I noticed the fly only when I was back in the office and could look at the photo closely. Often times, we do not notice all the insects that fly around us. However, I am allergic to bites of black flies (family Simuliidae). Thus, I do notice them when I get swollen. |
