The intent of this pilot project is to create and post a website that will be useful to educators who wish to learn more about the importance of teaching a second language together with its culture. In this project, we will focus on the teaching of these four languages/cultures: Blackfoot, French, Mandarin and Spanish. The specific outcomes for this pilot project are:

To review the related literature on teaching a second language together with its culture.
To interview second language teachers to understand pedagogical issues on culture in second language classrooms .
To identify and capture, through videotape, some best practices in teaching of culture in second language classrooms .
The interviews and the classroom videotaping will be edited in iMovie to create streaming video files to post on the website.
