Welcome to the Brain Training Study for Adults (age 65+)

As we get older, it is important to maintain our cognitive abilities, including memory, thinking speed, and decision-making abilities. There are multiple training programs on the market, and we want to know how they benefit the brain.

As a participant in this study, you will be randomly assigned to one of two training groups, or a no-training group. If you are assigned to a training group, you will be expected to play online games for 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week, for 8 weeks. Before and after the 8-week training period, you will complete online questionnaires and complete an in-person cognitive assessment (measurement of your thinking abilities, such as memory, thinking speed, and decision making). If you are assigned to the no-training group, you will complete the online surveys and 2 in-person cognitive assessments, and will receive no brain training. You will receive $25.00 per assessment as compensation ($50.00 in total if both assessments are completed).

A benefit that you may receive from participating in the Brain Training Study is that you will contribute to knowledge about how brain training programs work. In addition, you will have complementary access to a BrainGymmer training program, and may benefit from the training. You may also receive compensation for your time if you are randomized into the control group. Also, your parking will be free when you attend assessments. As a thank you for your participation, participants will be entered into a draw to win $100.00 to a restaurant or retailer of your choice. The odds of winning are 1 in 20.

If you are interested in participating, please complete the survey below and we will contact you about your eligibility to join the Brain Training Study
