Dentistry Night

When: Wednesday, February 9th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Where: SS10

This is a free event open to anyone interested in pursuing a career in dentistry. Dr.Hoe from South Calgary will be providing information about this profession.

Mock Interview Update

Due to limited space this year, we ask that all members who signed up for an interview but who have NOT applied to med school/have NOT received an official interview please notify us by email so that we can give priority to those with interviews. Any remaining spots will be lotteried off. To keep things fair please forward us the confirmation email you received when you applied for med school (confirmation email of an interview is even better!).

Note that if we are unable to accomodate you for an interview, you can still participate by volunteering with SIMS for this event. Send us an email if you are interested.

Interview Workshop

When: Wednesday, January 26 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm

Where: MFH 164

Come check out this free seminar given by Dr. Astroff who will provide information regarding medical and dental interview skills. Also Mandy Foley from Career Services will be speaking about additional resources and will be happy to answer FAQs.

Please Note: Registration for mock interviews begins at this event. Space for mock interviews is limited, therefore we ask that only those who have applied to med school this year sign up for a spot. There is a $5 fee for SIMS members and a $10 fee for non-SIMS members, for those who want to sign up for an interview.

Happy Holidays! - November 27, 2010

Thank you to John Bertram and those who have attended the Anatomy and Cadaver Lab Tour.

There will be no more events for the rest of the semester and our office will be closed during this time. Here are some more things to expect next semester as we go along:

Please remember that Fall lectures end on December 10, 2010; UPASS is available around December 13, 2010; and that Winter lectures will begin on January 10, 2011 (not including Block Courses!)

Anyway, we hope you all good luck on your final examinations and that you will enjoy your holiday break. See you next semester!
