Welcome
Hello, I am S. M. Sohan and welcome to my internet space. In short, I am a M.Sc. Student at the Computer Science Department, University of Calgary, Calgary, AB, Canada . I just started my MS and work at the agile software engineering research lab under my supervisor Dr. Frank Maurer. I am looking into a research topic around agile practices, especially finding solutions/tools to faciliate multi-team large scale software projects.
Apart from this research, I am learning to
design software that can scale up and perform effectively and efficiently. When
I am not with software, most likely I am reading books or surfing internet.
Previously, I worked for over 3 years in the software development industry. During those days, I designed and
developed a few software products as a
Senior Software Engineer
at Code71. I became a Certified Scrum Master after receiving a wonderful training by Pete Deemer, an Yahoo! ex VP. I am also a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS).
I am also a big fan of cricket, football and tennis. I like to watch, read and take part in discussions about these games.
I campaign for posthumous eye donation and take it
as one of my social responsibilities. If you are interested to learn more or take part in the campaign, please drop me a note, I will get back to you as soon as possible.
I had an excellent
student life.
I made a lot of friends during my cadet life [1995 to 2001] at Faujdarhat Cadet
College
[Wiki] and undergrad life [2002 to 2007] at
BUET
I am inspired by the sacrifice and promise of my predecessors who liberated the country, Bangladesh, and fought for the right to speak in my monther tongue,
Bangla. I am committed to uphold their
evergreen spirit for a better tomorrow.
