This homepage has been designed to give you a pictoral tour of how and
why ANSMET hunts for meteorites in the Antarctic. The images have been
provided by field party members from the 20 field seasons ANSMET has had since
1976.
A collection of links including maps, satellite images, inventories, and more!

"Explore how Antarctica's ice has preserved the past -- from Chernobyl to the Little Ice Age -- going
back hundreds of thousands of years, and then see how the world's coastlines would recede if
some or all of this ice were to melt. Also check out scores of astonishing facts about the White
Continent, and what it's like to live and work there."
Over the past 30 years, the Mid-continent population of Lesser Snow Geese
has tripled, causing degradation (from goose feeding habits) in large
tracts of coastal wetlands in the Hudson Bay region. The Hudson Bay Project is a collaborative research program
examining the interactions of biotic and abiotic factors that lead to such
trophic cascades (runaway ecological processes). The Webpage, illustrated
with color photos, describes the myriad of research programs -- from the
use of LANDSAT satellite imagery to detect changes in vegetation, to
studies of digestive physiology -- and lists participating scientists and
affiliated institutions. Also at the site are full reference lists of
relevant publications (including current and "in press" publications), a
News section providing research updates, and a selection of recommended
links. This excellent research site simplifies the complexity of
ecosystem-scale studies enough to make it user-friendly to the general
public but not so much that the impressive content and depth of the
research is compromised. [LXP] (from the Scout Report)
A website all about Antarctica and the part Antarctica plays in our global system of weather and climate and oceans and geology! Rice University puts up this website, which has information about both the Arctic and the Antarctic. This is a very nicely done site!
Antarctic Tourism and Non-governmental Expeditions Management -- This site is designed to assist the planning and management of tourism and non-government operations in Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic, and students examining related tourism management issues.
Tourist Guide to Antarctica -- Everything you need to know to plan your pleasure trip to this polar paradise, brought to you by Lonely Planet. Includes slide show

This Field Guide is one outcome of the National Science Foundation's Artists and Writers Program support of Norbert Wu and is intended to facilitate field
identification for scientific diving. Identification of invertebrates from photos can be problematic; the reader is advised to refer to cited and other publications to delve
further into characters for identification. The reader is advised that the Field Guide is written from selected publications and does not suffice as a review on each species
