We are often told that, "a picture is worth a thousand words." And yet, I am often driven to describe in my own words for photos. To exercise my impulse to write, I will attempt to present here my collection of photos with my comments which might stir your interest. The theme is Japan, the life and the traditions which are often different from the world we live in. I hope that this site may be of some assistance to students of Japanese language and culture, or people who are interested in Japan.
I realize that any one person's photo collection is very limited and far from enough. I hope that this collection will grow, and it would be a great pleasure if some of the readers were willing to share their photos in this manner. If you do, simply drop me an e-mail! |
写真は語る。写真は言葉に勝る。その一方、表情豊かな写真を眺めて、時々それが語ろうとしているものを文字にしてみたいという衝動に駆られてしまう。
ここに、日本から撮ってきた楽しいスナップ写真の数々を集めて、そこから読み取れそうなものをあえて記してみた。いささか饒舌で、ところどころ偏見をまじえたメモになるが、日本の生活や慣習に関心をもつ人、そして日本語や日本文化の勉強に励んでいる学生たちのために参考になれればと思っている。 試して書き出してみると、一人のコレクションではどうしてもかぎりがある。楽しい写真をここで披露したい方、ぜひ声をかけてください。 |
