ENME 339 Engineering Graphics and CAD H(3-2)

Calendar Information

Technical sketching. Orthographic projections. Multiviews, auxiliary views and section views. Dimensions and tolerances. Working drawings. Design applications. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software is used for 3-D modelling and 2-D drawing.

Objectives

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

 

-        draw simple technical sketches,

-        develop 2-D and 3-D models using SOLIDWORKS,

-        develop multiple-views of 3-D objects based on orthographic projection,

-        develop section views and auxiliary views of 3-D objects,

-        understand fundamental manufacturing processes and describe the relevant information in technical drawings,

-        define dimensions and tolerances based on design and manufacturing requirements,

-        model typical mechanical components such as threads, fasteners, springs and gears,

-        develop working drawings with assemblies and bill of materials, and

-        solve engineering design problems and model design results using SOLIDWORKS.
