Test Topics

First, a general principle:

The test will focus mainly on topics that were heavily emphasized in lectures and labs. We are not going to make a lot of marks depend on topics that were given very little coverage in lectures and labs.

The test will cover all course material up to and including Lab 8 and the lectures of Friday, March 13, with the following exceptions:

The number of marks associated with material from the lecture Friday, March 13 will be small, but potentially greater than zero, to give you some motivation to stay up-to-date with course material.

Most of the marks will be for material covered after Midterm #1, but there will be some marks for material going back almost to the beginning of the course.

Midterm #2 Instruction Subset

For this year the Midterm #2 Instruction Subset will be defined as all of the real instructions from the Midterm #1 instruction set …

sll, srl

and, andi, or, ori, lui, nor

… these two pseudoinstructions …

la, li

… plus the following instructions we studied after Midterm #1 …
