Richard Wan, PhD, PEng
Professor
>Background:
Dr. Wan is a Professor with the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary. He has many years of experience in geomechanics with special emphasis on continuum mechanics, soil and rock mechanics, constitutive laws for engineering materials and numerical modelling of complex geotechnical structures. His research expertise covers the fields of Geomechanics and Computational Mechanics with applications such as resource extraction and cold regions engineering. He is also involved in Biomechanics/Biomedical Research, in particular Cryo-treatment of tissues such as in Prostrate Cryosurgery.
